A game in progress

  • The seeker's map with the possible area narrowed down, the question arsenal, and active curses
  • Riding a train on the way to the hiding zone
  • The hider's hand of time-bonus and curse cards, mid-hunt
  • The seeker exploring the streets on foot, closing in on the hiding zone

HOW A GAME WORKS

Question. Chase. Corner.

  1. 01

    The hider heads out

The hider gets a head start on real transit and settles near a station. That station becomes the center of their hiding zone, and they must stay inside it once seeking begins.

  2. 02

    Ask questions

Radar, thermometer, matching, photo and more. Answers are worked out from the hider's actual position, so they can't be faked, and each one shrinks the area the hider can be in.

  3. 03

    Expect curses

Every question the hider answers lets them draw cards: time bonuses, or curses that make you roll dice to move, cap your walking speed, lock you on a train, or block question types.

  4. 04

    Close in

Once you're on foot inside the hiding zone, the hider freezes where they stand. Get within 50 m of them on foot to win. The hider's score is how long they stayed hidden.

WHAT'S IN THE GAME

Played on real transit data

  • Real transit, real timetables

Trains, subways and ferries run on their published schedules. Miss a departure and you wait for the next one.

  • Many regions, every scale

Dense metro networks and rural branch lines alike, across a growing set of regions worldwide.

  • Question types

Radar, thermometer, matching, photo, Street View, route and more. How many cards the hider draws depends on the question type.

  • Cards & curses

Each answered question lets the hider draw cards. Time-bonus cards add to their score; curse cards are played against you.

  • Solo or head-to-head

Play against an AI hider on your own, or one-on-one with a friend.

  • Runs in the browser

Desktop browser, no download. Sign up and start a game.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

FAQ

Is it free to play?

Yes. Worldboard is free to play. Members play ad-free and can speed the game clock up to 80×; membership is available any time from the shop.

Do I have to physically travel?

No. The game runs entirely in your browser on real map and timetable data; you ride the trains virtually.

How many players do I need?

Just you, if you like: solo mode is you against an AI hider. Multiplayer is head-to-head — one hider versus one seeker.

Can the hider move?

Yes, anywhere inside the hiding zone, right up until you walk into it. Then the hider freezes where they stand.

Where in the world can I play?

Any region Worldboard has transit data for — dense metro networks and rural branch lines alike, across many regions worldwide. Coverage grows as new feeds are added.

What exactly is a curse?

A card the hider plays against you: forcing dice rolls before you can move, capping your speed, locking you on a train, or blocking questions. Most curses cost the hider cards to play; a few instead require you to be far away from them.

How long does a game take?

Typically 1–3 hours, depending on the map and how good the hiding spot is. You can save a game and pick it up later.
